We must act quickly!

ladykikyou:

Kikyou was quiet at first. She was surprised Kagome hadn’t admitted to InuYasha that she was the one who had taken the jewel. Her expression became serious. “Yes. I took the jewel to purify it and conceal it from Naraku’s destructive powers.” She admitted shamelessly. The confusion and anger boiling within the inu-hanyou was painfully apparent. He had always been impatient and hot-tempered. It didn’t phase the priestess when he finally exploded and shouted. Instead, she kept her calm demeanor as she gathered her weapon. “…. My revival was a mistake. It should not have happened.” She murmured softly, knowing deep within her heart that she wasn’t meant to be living once more. “Naraku got his hands on the Medio Seiki… a powerful stone harbored by a dog demoness in a far away land. It has the power to gift life.” Although aware that InuYasha had an older brother who was full-demon, Kikyou was unaware that the stone came from Sesshomaru’s birth mother.

“He used it to revive me and capture me as his own possession.” She paused, anger and worry permeating her visage. “I am… ashamed to admit this, but my guard was shattered. I have been branded by his mark, cursed to be forever connected to him until this curse is broken. He wishes to use me to get a hold of the jewel.” Her teeth grit, her grip tightening on her bow. “I would rather die once more then suffer at his feet. I will not allow him to get his filthy hold on the jewel.” After regaining her composure, the priestess took a deep breath and exhaled. “I… managed to escape, but barely. And now, in order to break this curse and free the world of his darkness I must find Kohaku. He wishes to slaughter the boy for the last jewel shard. Once I find him, I will purify his shard and seek out a way to spare his life.” Kikyou remembered fondly when she had come across the boy.

She easily related to him, for he had shared a similar tragic fate because of Naraku. It wrenched her heart and forages a strong resolution within her to forever protect the boy from Naraku. Kohaku was strong and wise for his age. He deserved to live, and Kikyou would have nothing less. “If you stay, InuYasha… Naraku will come. We are not ready to defeat him, yet. We must find Kohaku first.” Kikyou encouraged. Somehow, the idea of traveling with InuYasha’s companions didn’t seem very favorable. The Houshi-sama was a good man, as well as the taijya that he was in love with. Kagome was growing stronger, and Shippou was a kind-hearted little demon. However, there was no place for her. She was unwelcome, and very aware of this fact. As he reasoned with her as to why he had come for her, the cold shell built around her heart somewhat quivered with warmth. She flinched, finding it much harder to conceal emotion in her new body.

“I sense a barrier… outside. We won’t be able to leave unless we break it, first.” She slowly changed the subject, overwhelmed with emotion as she began to walk towards the entrance. The closer she became to the door, the more she realized her predictions were true. They were sealed in tightly. “If we cannot break the barrier… we must find another way out.” The temple was dark and dank. It had been abandoned for many years, and had a somewhat sickening aura to it. So many people had died here… but why? Kikyou was unsure. Her heart sank into her gut. Somehow, she felt they were not safe at all. She wasn’t sure where they’d go, or what they would proceed to do after they were freed… but she had pushed the very idea into the back of her mind. What right did she have to ask InuYasha to stay?

InuYasha listened to the miko as she explained. This was all a little too much for him to handle, and also incredibly confusing. Though he didn’t have time to throw question after question at her, no matter how much he wanted to. Right after she was done with her explanation of why she was even there, which didn’t satisfy the hanyou’s curiosity but it had to do for now, a new problem faced them.

I’m staying,” he spoke with out hesitation, and drew the Tessaiga from its sheath once more. It immediately transformed into the larger blade, because after using it for so long, it was like the half demon and the blade shared a connection. At first, the blade wouldn’t even react to InuYasha’s touch until he promised to protect Kagome. Admittedly, after that InuYasha cared more for the girl, and their relationship undoubtedly grew. Maybe it changed him as well, though if it was for the better or the worse, he couldn’t say. “Stop worrying about me. I’m not going anywhere.

It felt like he’s said all of this before. Naraku just couldn’t keep away from Kikyou. She had to die in Naraku’s eyes because Onigumo, the human inside him, desired her. She had died once, and the first time it was by the hands of Naraku. Though he didn’t understand what would be the point in reviving her. He was happy to see her, to smell her scent and to know she was alive, but InuYasha couldn’t help but think there was more to it than just wanting to kill Kikyou again. He has been fighting with Naraku for far too long, and learned a lot of tricks that the foe had come up with just to kill InuYasha and his friends. They never succeeded, however they did come close.

Then let’s find Kohaku,” he already made up his mind. But as soon as he turned with his blade in hand and ready, he sensed the barrier as well. The miasma in the air was thickening. A growl emitted from the white haired male’s throat, his golden eyes narrowing and his grip on the Tessaiga tightening. “I’ll break the damn barrier,” his teeth clenched and he stomped out of the temple. The barrier wasn’t too far away so there was a risk of it bouncing back at him. InuYasha’s mindset wasn’t exactly on the consequences, though. He looked back at Kikyou and told her to stay there, for well, obvious reasons. Then he focused on the barrier, which was clouded with miasma. All the hanyou could do was hold his breath for the moment as his sword masked its silver color with red, a powerful aura erupting from the blade as it transformed into what InuYasha called the Red Tessaiga. He lifted the blade over his head, and focused the wind just right so he could see the cut in between. With a loud grunt, he slammed the blade down and called the wind scar. As soon as the blade cut though the air, a much larger and more powerful wave of air shot out and aimed straight for Naraku’s barrier. As it connected, the barrier sparked all around and the ground even shook, but the barrier did not falter. Instead, the blast from the Tessaiga was sucked into the barrier, and left nothing but the streak the blade left in the ground.

What?” InuYasha’s eyes widened and he stared at the barrier. It didn’t even scratch it. His surprised expression was short lived, soon replaced with a wave of anger. Naraku was really testing his patience, as if that was anything new. “Where are you, bastard Naraku?!” the hanyou spat, his brows furrowed angrily. “Too afraid that I could kill you in one sweep? Come out and fight me! Stop protecting yourself by trapping me with your barriers!

InuYasha sent a few more waves of his power at the barrier, calling out the wind scar a few more times. The barrier sparked and sparked, but sadly only the ground took most of the damage, leaving behind the streaks of dirt and rock that was kicked up by the force of the Wind Scar. InuYasha panted a little and growled again. It seemed like no matter how hard he hit the barrier, or how much, it wasn’t going to budge. Not only that but swinging the sword around like that took more effort than he wanted to admit, as well as using the wind scar multiple times. “Damn,” he cursed himself, and put his blade to his side. It looked like they were going to have to find another way out of there.

Anonymous asked: Do you think Kagome could have been happy with Kouga?

inuyasha:

Absolutely not. From the very beginning of their first meeting Kagome knew that there was no chance she would ever fall for Koga. Besides, she was already madly in love with Inuyasha by the point we meet Koga.

Kagome isn’t the type of girl to just settle for a guy. The proof lies in Hojo and how she constantly turned down such a great looking, kind guy. Why? Because she truly didn’t like him. Same goes with Koga.

Kagome knows what she wants and it definitely wasn’t Koga.

“Hey InuYasha! Didn’t expect you to follow me anytime soon.”

“Err— why not? I gotta keep track of you somehow when you’re running off doing God knows what in your world.”
